A few weeks ago, avocados are in season in Melbourne. So is banana with its prices recovering (or tumbling), from disaster-ravaged Queensland. Consequently, I bought 2 avocados for $2.50 and 1kg of banana for $1.98 (they were $10+ per kg a few months back). Then, I store them together in a bag in the pantry.
The Problem
The next day, I decided to eat 1 of the avocados. I took it out from the bag and gave it a gentle squeeze. It was soft (it was ripe). That was fast. Just a day before, they were firm. So, I sliced it open and discovered that it was beginning to sprout. It was still edible (refer to the picture below), but not that tasty anymore T.T

LifeHack? What is?
Life hack - the term coined by Danny O'Brien at a February 2004 technology conference. I'd only learn of it yesterday, after reading the July 23, 2007 issue of TIME (Asia) magazine. It is a very interesting idea, I must say, for geek or those tech savy people out there, at the very least.
"...life hacks are about getting things done and solving life's problems with modest solutions." - Merlin Mann, 43folders.com
At look into google trends of 'life hack' yields surprising results:
Malaysia tops the regions ranking.
San Francisco comes first at the cities ranking.
While, the Vietnamese leads in the language ranking.
By the way, google trends is a new handy service from google, and we will cover it another day, but for now, let us resume. From the chart, we can see that the term 'life hack' became popular at the 4th quarter of 2004, followed by a period of 'inactivity', then and continue be popular again from around of beginning of 2006 till now (July 2007).
Have you ever read or heard about "7 Habits of Highly Effective People"? If so, then life hacks is about "habits of highly effective geeks", sort of. In a mindmap way of relating it, you could link the word "efficient" & "effective" to "Problem solving" to "Life".

"Think of Lifehacker as self-help for geeks." - lifehacker.com
Well, this post serve as a very brief introduction to life hack, as I'm in the process of expanding my knowledge in this area and there you have it. *End*
*Note: I had just surf through the 'Money' section of lifehack.org and find some interesting posts in there, like "27 Personal Finance Tips for Overseas Travel" & "Busting 22 Money Myths". Want some tips on financial freedom? Head over there right now.
